Cop shot dead in Bihar, criminals secure release of juvenile delinquent

Hajipur, Apr 03: Unidentified criminals shot dead a cop and secured release of a juvenile delinquent home near Kutchery roundabout under Town police station area in Vaishali district today.

Police said here that outlaws fired on the cop when he was escorting the juvenile delinquent Prince Kumar from remand home to juvenile court for his production and secured his release. Sources said that the policeman identified as Ramiqbal Ravidas (55), who was critically injured in the shoot out, was admitted to Hajipur Sadar Hospital where he died during treatment. The outlaws made good their escape after committing the crime.
Police said that a massive manhunt was on to nab criminals and juvenile delinquent, an accused in a petrol pump loot case. UNI
