New Delhi, Mar 28: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Wednesday said the party is not aware of the issues and circumstances those have led Congress or any other party to initiate impeachment proceedings against the Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra.
"We do not know much about it. What we have heard is from the media itself. We also do not know the content of the draft that is reportedly in circulation," Biju Janata Dal leader in Lok Sabha Bhartruhari Mahtab told here.
His remarks come close on the heels of reported efforts being made by a section of Congress leaders in Rajya Sabha to enlist the supportof lawmakers to initiate an impeachment motion against Dipak Misra.
"I am just a signatory to the draft. It has been initiated by Congress leaders," NCP MP in Rajya Sabha Majeed Memon said.
The reported Congress move come about two months after the four senior judges accused the Chief Justice of India of putting the democracy at risk.
