Mumbai, Mar 3: The
benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) fell by 95.21 points at
34,046.94, a one-week-low during the week ended on Thursday on weak global
cues.
As on Friday the equity market remained closed
on account of 'Holi' festival.
The Nifty 50 index eased by 32.70 points at 10,458.35.
Stocks Domestic stock markets logged small losses in the truncated trading week.
Gains triggered by better-than-expected domestic economic growth were offset by losses due to negative global stocks.
Indices edged lower in three out of four trading sessions of the week.
The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index rose 0.56 points at 16,562.59. The S&P BSE Small-Cap index gained 131.71 points or 0.73 pc to settle at 18,127.93. Both these indices outperformed the Sensex.
Key benchmark indices scored strong gains on first trading day of the week on Monday as the sensex surged by 303.60 points at 34,445.75.
The Nifty gained by 91.55 points at 10,582.60.
Next three session it remained negative.
On Tuesday, the Sensex fell by 99.36 points at 34,346.39 and the Nifty too dropped by 28.30 points at 10,554.30 in a volatile session of trade. On Wednesday it further lost by 162.35 points at 34,184.04 on weak global cues. On Thursday too lost ground by 137.10 points to 34,046.94. UNI
