Hyderabad, Mar 2: As a part of new initiative towards providing much needed emergency amenity a “Sanitary Napkin Dispenser” is installed in ladies waiting hall at Kacheguda Railway Station on Friday.
South Central Railway has been on the forefront in providing special facilities for the women passengers.
This facility was inaugurated by a women employee in the presence of Mr Arun Kumar Jain, Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division, Ms Vaishali Jain, President, South Central Railway Womens’ Welfare Organisation (SCRWWO) and Mr A Sridhar, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Hyderabad Division.
This facility is provided as a part of initiative taken by Indian Railways to provide special facilities to the women passengers.
Kacheguda Station is an A-1 category station with a considerable number of female employees. On an average 17, 000 women passengers commute daily at Kacheguda, keeping in view the health and hygiene of women passengers, South Central Railway Womens’ Welfare Organisation of Hyderabad division has come forward to sponsor these machines at Kacheguda. This would be extermely helpful to the women commuters, apart from women employees at Kacheguda Railway station.
This “Happy Nari “ Napkin Vending Machine can dispense 75 napkins in a single refill and the cost of two napkins is Rs 5 only, which is cheaper and affordable. 
The incinerator machine can dispose 200 used napkins per day. This is the first of its kind at Railway stations in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. UNI
