PM Oli to visit India from April 6 to 8

Kathmandu, Mar 23: Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is all set to visit India in the first week of April and the ministries have started finalising the agenda to make his visit a grand success, The Himalayan Times report said on Friday.

According to sources, the PM is most likely to visit India from April 6 to 8. Though no formal announcement of dates of visit has been made from either side, PM Oli has directed ministries to prepare agenda for his dialogue with Indian leaders.
India had proposed that the PM should visit India from April 8 to 10, but the PM coordinated with Indian authorities to change the dates to April 6 to 8, sources at the Office of the Prime Minister said.
According to sources, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has told the Ministry of Finance to prepare his visit agenda. The MoF, on the other hand, has asked the ministries concerned to provide a list of issues that they think could be discussed with Indian leaders and government during Oli’s visit.
MoF will send a comprehensive list of agenda to the MoFA, which will give a final shape to the PM’s agenda.
“Both sides have intensified preparations for PM Oli’s visit to India,” Supply Minister Matrika Yadav told THT. Yadav returned to Kathmandu today after his Delhi tour. During his visit, he met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indian Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj. “Prime Minister Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj are keen to welcome our prime minister.” Yadav said Oli’s visit could take Nepal-India relations to a new height and it could herald a new beginning in bilateral relations. Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali will visit India to prepare the ground for the PM’s visit.
When Sushma Swaraj visited Nepal in February, she extended an invitation on behalf of Modi to Oli to visit India. Modi had called Oli twice after the left alliance won elections.
The PM also discussed his visit agenda with CPN-MC Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal. UNI
