New Delhi, Mar 23: Proceedings in the Rajya Sabha were adjourned till Monday amid Opposition
uproarde spite Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu urging members to introspect on the
justification of their protest which has resulted in a three-week deadlock.
As soon as the House began its sitting, Mr Naidu after paying
tributes to the martyrs Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, implored the
Opposition members to not disrupt proceedings saying he was getting calls from
people 'who were deeply disturbed' as to why the House functioning was
paralysed.
"How long can you justify it,' he asked expressing anguish over the fact that the House has not been able to transact any business in the resumed second part of its Budget session resulting in frequent adjournments.
As Opposition members began to protest, the chair expressed surprise 'you are not willing to listen to the chair?'
He said he left it to all sides to introspect and not let down the people of the country. UNI
