Tura, Mar 3: Chief
Minister Mukul Sangma was leading in both the Assembly constituency – Ampati
and Songsak – in the first round of counting of votes.
In Ampati assembly constituency, Dr Sangma is leading by 400
in a straight contest against BJP candidate Bakul Hajong, while in Songsak, he
was leading by 1352 votes against National People’s Party candidate Nihim
D.Shira.
Meanwhile, the ruling Congress is leading in 14 seats, NPP in 6, United Democratic Party and People;’s Democratic Front in 4 seats each.
