Anantnag, Mar 25 :  Life remained affected for the second successive day on Sunday due to a strike in parts of this south Kashmir district, where two militants were killed in an encounter by security forces early on Saturday morning.
Even though there was no strike call given by any organization, shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was also off the road in parts of Anantnag, including Dialgam, Dooru, and adjoining areas.
However, train service resumed on Sunday after remaining suspended on Saturday for security reasons in south Kashmir.
Meanwhile, additional security forces remained deployed in strength in sensitive area to maintain law and order in Anantnag, where forces on Saturday burst teargas shells and resorted to lathicharge to disperse demonstrators who took to the streets at several places and pelted stones.
Meanwhile, situation elsewhere in Anantnag and other south Kashmir districts was normal. UNI
