Kolkata, Mar 28: The West Bengal Government wants to solve the problem of scarcity of water for
agriculture in the Hills region by implementing ‘hydro water project-zero
energy’ across the region.
The GTA would also soon submit certain proposals to the State
Government.
The government has already allotted Rs ten crore to make ways for distributing water for agriculture in the region.
Among the measures being undertaken is the digging of ponds, which is part of the ‘Jal Dharo Jal Bharo’ scheme.
The ‘Jal Dharo Jal Bharo’ scheme is also being utilised for micro-irrigation in the Hills. UNI
