New Delhi, Mar 28: India on Wednesday condemned the "renewed missile" attacks targeting civilian areas in Saudi Arabia and reiterated the country's resolve to fight terrorism and violence in all its forms.
'We strongly condemn the renewed missile attacks targeting civilian areas in the direction of Riyadh and other cities of Saudi Arabia. We are deeply concerned about the escalating situation threatening the lives of innocent civilians," the official spokesperson in the MEA said in response to media queries.
"We reiterate our resolve to fight terrorism and violence in all its forms," he said.
According to media reports, Saudi Arabia has announced that its forces had intercepted a number of ballistic missiles fired by Houthi rebels towards several locations in the kingdom.
In a statement the Saudi government also said that the Saudi air defence intercepted seven missiles, three of which were headed towards Riyadh.
An Egyptian resident was reportedly killed as a result of shrapnel - the first death in Riyadh since the country's military campaign was launched three years ago in Yemen - while several others were injured. UNI
