New Delhi, Mar 22: The Lok Sabha was adjourned within minutes of assembling on Thursday till 12
noon after Speaker Sumitra Mahajan could not go ahead with the Question Hour
due to Opposition uproar and protests over demand for immediate setting up of Cauvery
Water Management Board and the TRS members insisting for increase in Muslim
reservation quota in Telangana.
As soon as the House met for the day, Members from Telangana
Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and AIADMK started sloganeering and rushed into the Well.
Lawmakers from Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) donning pink stoles wanted hike in reservation quota for Muslims in Telangana. They also carried placards, which said 'One nation, one law' and 'Link MG-NREGA to farm labourers'.
The AIADMK members also entered into the Well raising slogans for immediate setting up of Cauvery Water Management Board.
The Speaker called for taking up of listed questions and the first question pertaining to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways was named.
But the ruckus continued and nothing could be heard.
The Speaker said: "...No body wants to listen, no body wants to run the House".
Unable to conduct business, Ms Mahajan adjourned the House till 1200 hrs.
Both the Houses of Parliament have failed to transact any major business since the beginning of the second part of the Budget session of Parliament on March 5. UNI
