POONCH MARCH 27: District Information Centre (DIC) Poonch under the guidance of Urdu Department Government Degree College Poonch organized a multilingual Mushaira.
Regional Director Survey and Land Records, Showkat Kazmi presided over the function whereas ADC, Dr.Bashrat Hussein was chief guest and prominent citizens and educator K. K. Kapoor was the guest of honor.
As many as, 25 renowned poets from across the district cited their poems and Gazals in different languages which include Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Pahari, Gojri and Pahari.
A large number of literary persons including college professors students, prominent citizens and locals attended the function.
People present in the function appreciated the poetry of the poets especially in local languages. Various budding poets recited their Gazals which received thunderous applause from the audience.
People appreciated the Information Department for organizing such events and asked the department to organize these programmes in future
Welcome address was presented by district information officer Abid Hussein Shah, vote of thanks by Regional director survey and land record Showket Kazmi. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by renowned anchor Pardeep Khanna.
