KATHUA, MARCH 26: A three- day special training
program on disaster preparedness was organized by Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu
in collaboration with District Red Cross Society at Government Degree College on
the theme of “Preparedness for
Disaster Management and First-Aid” .
DDC Kathua, Rohit Khajuria, who is
also the chairman of District Red Cross Society, inaugurated the training
program.
In his inaugural address, DDC
appreciated the initiatives taken by the regional and district branches of IRCS
and briefed the participants about the importance of First-Aid training in day
to day life. He said that the essence of this training program is to build the
capacity of participants for their voluntary services during emergency
situations.
He also advised all the
participants to attend the program with full devotion and keen interest so as
to acquaint themselves with the effective and life saving techniques of
First-Aid which are useful to save the human lives.
On the occasion, Regional Secretary
IRCS Jammu, Dinesh Gupta deliberated on disaster preparedness and exhorted upon
proper preparedness to minimize losses besides the importance of learning
First-Aid techniques so as to save lives during emergency.
ACR Kathua Jatinder Mishra,
Vice-Principal, Professors, Students and Volunteers of Red Cross in large
numbers were present during the training program.
