New Delhi,Mar 23: Congress leaders led by the party president Rahul Gandhi on Friday staged a protest in front of Mahatma Gandhi's statue at the Parliament demanding the government to file a petition against the Supreme Court's SC/St act.
The grand old party's senior leaders and MPs demanded that the government should file a review petition agianst the apex court's ruling related to the SC/ST act 1989, as it took away power of the law that acted as a deterrent against the atrocities towards people belonging to Scheduled Casts and Scheduled Tribes, according to the Congress.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Congress had demanded in the parliament for the same.
Senior Congress leaders along with leader of the opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad and others raised slogans stating,'Daliton ke samman mein Rahul Gandhi maidan mein', in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue in the Parliament premises on Friday. UNI
