New Delhi, Mar 28: The BJP on Wednesday slammed West Bengal Government for its alleged inept handling of the situation in Raniganj area of the state and even sounded critical of the state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee getting busy with her "politicking in Delhi".
"Raniganj in Bengal is gripped in a never ending cycle of violence. Media is silent and so is the West Bengal administration," BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya tweeted.
"Mamata Banerjee is busy politicking in Delhi while police officers, let alone ordinary citizens, are struggling to save their life and limb," he wrote.
At least two people died and several people including police personnel were injured on Monday during the violence in the wake of Ram Navami processions across the state.
Mr Malviya also tagged a Tweet from the IPS Association which referred to the injury suffered by Asansol -Durgapur DCP Arindam Dutta Chowdhury.
"It pains to see this and brings to fore perils and tough situations that police face. Asansol-Durgapur DCP & IPS officer Arindam Dutta Chowdhury was severely injured and lost his hand in abhorring violence on Monday. We pray for his speedy recovery and full restoration of hand," said the Twitter posting from the IPS Association.
West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool chief Ms Banerjee is camping in Delhi for last two days and has been meeting several regional party leaders in order to give a fresh momentum to frame an electoral strategy to take on BJP in the general elections of 2019. UNI
