Srinagar, Mar 29: Another youth shunned the path of militancy and returned home following appeal
by mother in the Kashmir valley, where six youths have joined different outfits
during the past three months.
A police spokesman on official Twitter account of Jammu &
Kashmir Police said on Thursday that “ One more boy returns home in south
Kashmir after persistence effort of family and friends. We welcome and assure
all support”. However, other details of the youth were not disclosed for
security reasons.
Director General of Police (DGP) Dr S P Vaid taking to micro blogging site twitter said “ Another mothers’ appeal to her son to shun militancy & return home gets response, God bless the family & show path to others”.
About six youths, including Junaid son of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman Mohammad Ashrf Sehrai have joined militant ranks in the first three months of 2018. Though Sehrai refused to appeal to his son to return home, parents of others have requested their sons to shun the path of violence and return home.
About a dozen youth have shun the path of violence and returned home since footballer-turned militant Majid Irshad Khan surrendered before the Army in November 2017. UNI
