Mar 6: The city police have apprehended three respondents and seized
15.239 kgs of gold ornaments, worth about Rs 5 crore and two cell phones from
their possession.
The sleuths of Chandrayangutta and Shahalibanda Police arrested Vaishnav Manoj
Kumar (42) of Ramanthapur, Pradeep Agarwal (23) and Yashaswai Agarwal (30),
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V V Srinivas Rao told media here on Tuesday.
Explaining the case, Mr Rao said that Manoj Kumar and Pradeep Agarwal were employees at Raja Ram Jewels, Charminar. Yashaswi Agrarwal is the owner of the Jewellery shop who handed over the Gold ornaments weighing 15.230 kgs without any tax receipts and valid records to the employees to sell the same in the familiar Jewellery shops--- Jay Alukas in Mysore and Malabar Joy Alukas In Bangaluru.
When the two employees were proceeding to bus stand in an autorickshaw, police seized the gold while conducting vehicle check at Aliyabad Road, the Police Commissioner said.
The apprehended respondents along with seized property were being handed over to Income Tax Department here for further action, he added. UNI
