New Delhi, Feb 9: The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 1200 Noon on Friday following protests by
Telugu Desam Party and YSRCP on the issue of granting special category status
to Andhra Pradesh and other issues related to the state.
As soon as the House met for the day, the agitating members
trooped into the Well holding placards and raised their demands.
Speaker Sumitra Mahajan asked the agitating members not to disturb the proceedings of the Question Hour but the uproar continued which forced the Speaker to adjourn the House till 1200 hrs.
On Thursday, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had assured the members of Andhra Pradesh that the Central Government would provide every assistance to the state and work out the modalities in a couple of days in consultation with the state government officials. UNI
