Agartala,
Feb 3: Under attack from BJP for neglecting development and issues
concerning jobs for youth, the CPI(M) on Saturday alleged that indiscriminate
campaign against the Left regime in the state is only part of conspiracies as
communist party is an 'eyesore' of reactionary classes.
"The Left Front government in Tripura has been a target
of ceaseless conspiracies. What is happening is nothing new. Extremist forces
were fielded to destroy peaceable destabilise our government," a party
leader said here adding however that, "Tripura shall never bow down to any
conspiracy".Visiting some urban hubs in Agartala do present a gloomy picture about the Marxists' prospect, a fact not denied by many CPI(M) workers. "There is erosion of support base. Young people are getting lured by BJP's Jumla politics. The truth of the matter is they are trying an impossible game, the CPI(M) is supremely strong in rural areas," says CPI(M) worker Hiranmoy Das at Shantipara area here.
He says the matured section of voters in the state including tribals will not fall into the trap of BJP as they fully know the fact that "the Modi government has failed in every front and nowhere near the target to achieve dreamy promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in recovering black money kept outside or creating two core jobs."
In fact the CPI(M) leaders and party workers would readily read out from the party manifesto for February 18 polls and say before promising 'moon's to the people of Tripura, the BJP-led NDA has to answer a lot on how the socio economic and political condition of India is "going from bad to worse".
In terms of BJP's tie up with the tribal groups like Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT), the CPI(M) leaders allege that the country's ruling party has tried to trigger anarchy in the state and had in fact "extended indirect support to separatists".
This, they say will not be acceptable to the people and thus BJP's ploy for division of a small state like Tripura is really uncalled for.
"The BJP has even blocked roads and national highways and encouraged disturbing law and order problem," one party leader said adding in contrast Manik Sarkar government has undertaken various developmental works in tribal areas with all its financial and constitutional limitations.
Overall, though admitting a serious contest - after long time in Tripura- the CPI(M) however remains confident that it it will be able to form the government for the eighth consecutive term.
BJP leader and candidate from Bordowali Ashish Kumar Shah dismisses the Marxists confidence and says, "People of Tripura have decided to vote out the communist regime and it is people's desire that we decided to quit Trinamool Congress and joined BJP". On BJP's truck with IPFT, Mr Shah says both and his party BJP are against division of Tripura but the issues raised by tribal community vis-a-vis their welfare, education and development need to be addressed.
