Mumbai, Feb 2: The Benchmark Index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) heavily down on Friday by 468.05 points to 35,438.61 on weak Asian Market.
Disappointment from the Budget due to reintroduction of long-term capital gains tax also impacted the equity market.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) slipped by 139.80 points to 10,877.10.
The sensex opened lower by 199 points to 35,707.60. It registered intra day high and low at 35,738.13 and 35,314.97 respectively.
The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 10,954.95 and 10,826.50 respectively.
All the sectoral indices were in red in early trade.
The scrips that tumled down were Yes Bank, ONGC, Kotak Bank, HDFC and NTPC.
The indices that rose were TCS, Health Care and Dr Reddy's Lab.
The losers were Yes Bank by 3.86 pc to Rs 345.90, ONGC by 3.13 pc to Rs 189, Kotak Bank by 2.70 pc to Rs 1090 and HDFC by 2.68 pc to Rs 1914.85.
The gainers were TCS by 1.33 pc to Rs 3180.75, HDFC by 0.58 pc to Rs 276.95 and Dr Reddy's Lab by 0.35 pc to Rs 2164.50. UNI
