New Delhi, Feb 2: The Supreme Court on Friday issued notice to the central government after
hearing a petition filed by CPI-M politburo member, SitaramYechury, challenging
introduction of Electoral Bonds in elections.
The apex court three-judge bench, headed by Chief Justice of
India (CJI) Dipak Misra and also comprising Justices AM Khanwilkar and DY
Chandrachud, issued notice to the central government and sought a detailed
reply from it.
"We issue notice to the central government on hearing a plea filed by the petitioner," the three-judge bench of the top court said.
The Centre has decided to introduce Electoral Bonds in elections. This decision was challenged by Yechury in the apex court. UNI
