New Delhi, Feb 9: Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 1200 hrs after members from Andhra Pradesh
trooped into the Well of the House raising slogans demanding special status for
the state.
After the laying of paper, Congress member K V P Ramachandra
Rao entered the Well of the House with placard in hands. He was followed by
other Members from Andhra Pradesh raising slogans "We want justice".
Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu asked the sloganeering MPs to go back to there seats as he wanted to take up the Zero Hour.
Derek O Brien of the AITC while seeking protection from the Chair said, "We want to have Zero Hour and discussion on Budget. We need your protection".
Chairman Naidu said, "I know I also want Zero Hour, Question Hour and Budget discussion. You know my conviction there should be an order in the House".
Despite the Chairman's appeal the members kept on raising slogans.
The visibly annoyed Chairman said that if the sloganeering members did not go back to their seats then he would be forced to name them or adjourned the House.
When the agitating members did not pay heed to the Chair's warning, Mr Naidu adjourned the House till 1200 hrs. UNI
