Maharashtra, Feb 24: A three-day state-level 'Tablingi Ijtema-2018'
(Preaching Congregation) started on Saturday morning after 'Namaz-e-Fjar' at
Limbe at Limbe Jalgaon village in Gangapur Taluka, about 16 km from here.
According to organising committee sources, lakhs of people have arrived at venue to participate in the event.
As per the schedule, 'Namaz-e-Fajr', prayer of first day, was held this morning amid tight security arrangements.
After prayer, scholars, cleric and experts meeting was held and discussion on various religious issues was in progress.
On February 25, prayer will be held and discussion with Umoomi will be held. Mass marriages (Nikah) will also be solemnised tomorrow.
On February 26, concluding day of Ijtema, special prayer will be held. Later, concluding speech of Ijtema will be presented.
A huge pandal has been erected in one crore sq ft area at the venue. The main aim of the congregation is to promote universal peace and brotherhood.
Five thousand volunteers have been pressed into service to look after traffic management. Police department has already diverted the traffic to facilitate Ijtema participants. UNI
