Islamabad,
Feb 2: Pakistan has asserted that the country wants to maintain a positive
relationship with the United States despite President Donald Trump's decision
to suspend military aid.
Pakistan Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan rejected US
complaints that Islamabad is not doing enough to stop militants that conduct
cross-border attacks. In an interview with a New York-based international news agency Bloomberg, he said Pakistan is committed to fighting terrorism and extremism and has not granted any safe haven to terror groups.
He also claimed that domestic security across the country has vastly improved following anti-terror operations.
Mr Dastgir said the United States continue to externalise their failures in Afghanistan by blaming it on Pakistan, a report published in Radio Pakistan on Thursday said.
Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan to exploit the economic benefits of regional connectivity, he added. UNI
