Agartala, Feb 24: Justice Ajay Rastogi, a senior judge of the Rajasthan High Court will assume
the office of the Chief Justice of High Court of Tripura on March 1 next.
The incumbent Chief Justice, T Vaiphei, would retire on
February 28. Justice Rastogi will arrive here next week and he will be
administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Tathagata Roy at Raj
Bhawan.
Recommending Justice Rastogi’s name, the Supreme Court Collegiums said, “The Collegiums find Justice Rastogi suitable in all respects for being appointed as Chief Justice of Tripura High Court”.
Against the sanctioned strength of four judges, the posts of two judges in Tripura High Court were lying vacant for more than one year. UNI
