New Delhi, Feb 3: The Rajput Karni Sena has withdrawn its agitation against the film 'Padmaavat', saying that there is no objectionable content in the film.
'After watching the film, we are fully satisfied that there is nothing in the film that would hurt the sentiments of the Rajput community. We are therefore withdrawing our agitation against the film, 'Karni Sena said in a letter to filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
They assured Bhansali that they would extend full support to him and the film distributors to release and distribute the film in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh , Gujarat and other parts of the state.
'We assure you that we will extend full support for the release and the distribution of the film in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh and other parts of the country,' the Karni Sena said.
In the letter , the Karni Sena said that on the direction of their national president Sukhdev Singh, they watched 'Padmaavat' yesterday .
'On the directions of our National president Sukhdev Singh, we watched the film at Jaipur yesterday . We are proud to say that the film presents a beautiful picture of the valour and sacrifice of the Rajput community.
The film is a tribute to the greatness of Rani Padmavati,' the Karni Sena said.
'In the film there is no scene between Rani Padmavati and Allauddin Khilji,' they said.
The withdrawal of the agitation by the Karni Sena has paved the way for the release of the film in Rajasthan, Gujarat, MP and Gujarat.
The Multiplex Association of India had announced that multiplexes in these states would not screen the film due to the agitation by the Karni Sena.
'Padmaavat', which released on January 25 worldwide, has already earned Rs 166 crore in India in its opening week. UNI
