Kolkata, Feb 24: The West Bengal Government is planning to launch Jharnadhara Water Project in
the Hills to mitigate the long-term problem of water crisis.
The North Bengal Development Department has been undertaking
various measures to address the water crisis issue in the region.
Once this project gets started, not just the Hills region, but other parts of north Bengal too will benefit immensely.
According to an official of the department, the project would be implemented after a thorough study on how fountain water, which is available in many areas, could be treated in plants to produce drinking water on a large scale. UNI
