Jammu, Feb 8: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered an extension into the services of State Chief Secretary Bharat Bhushan Vyas in an order issued here on Wednesday.
The extension will be in effect from March 1, 2018.
As per Government Order No.215-GAD of 2018, “In pursuance of third proviso to Rule 16(1) of All India Services (Death-Cum-Retirement Benefits) Rules, 1958 and in continuation of Government Order No. 1397-GAD of 2017 dated 27.10.2017, sanction is hereby accorded to the grant of extension in service to Bharat Bhushan Vyas, IAS in the post of Chief Secretary to the Government of Jammu and Kashmir for a further period of three months beyond 28th February, 2018 w.e.f 1st March, 2018 to 31st May, 2018.”
Mr Vyas, a 1986-batch IAS officer, was appointed as the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir on April 28, 2017.
He had served as the Principal Secretary to the Jammu and Kashmir Governor and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, besides holding various positions including the Principal Secretary (Finance).
This is the second time extension to Mr Vyas in a row. UNI
