Taranikanta for not taking any action against BJP, which was brought a large number
of it’s workers in the state in view of ensuing assembly election next week.
The CPI(M) state secretary Bijan Dhar said here today that the party had brought the issue of huge influx across the state by BJP in the state in last two weeks and terrorizing the political situation in different areas to the notice of CEO but he could not assure to stop entry of outsiders and the related issues.
Yesterday, CPI(M) central secretariat member Nilotpal Basu met CEC and submitted a memorandum alleging that a large number of outsiders have been camping in Tripura, some of them are even using official accommodations violating the rules of mode electoral code.
A good number of outsiders took shelter at different temples, tourism guest houses, hotels and some houses across the state and they have been doing political work for BJP, which is appeared to be dangerous for law and order situation of Tripura, the memorandum alleged.
Getting accommodation in any town of the state has become extremely difficult for other, Dhar alleged adding that almost all the rooms of hotels and guest houses were booked in bulk by different individuals.
He also reminded, “Tripura is a border state and the holding of peaceful elections is extremely important from the national security point. Unless the election administration takes a pro-active approach to deal with any attempt to subvert peace, it will be difficult to ensure free and fair elections in the state”.
Besides, various alluring campaigns to sway the voters with false promises and hopes, the BJP leaders have been trying to disturb peace and tranquility in the state. Almost everyday, there was some violence and terror incidents happening with the indulgence of BJP leaders, he added.
On the other, BJP Tripura state in-charge Sunil Deodhar today expressed deep concern over the sharp deterioration of law and order situation in the state following arrest of a cloth trader reportedly a supporter of CPI(M) with arms.
Mr Deodhar alleged that the accused tribal youth of Jatanbari in Amarpur sub-division identified Naresh Chakma (40) arrested by police from Agartala Railway Station yesterday morning is having connection with ruling party in Tripura.
“The party has been trying to disturb the peace and harmony in the state before the assembly polls. Reportedly, the CPI(M) cadres have accumulated arms even in the outskirt of Agartala to disturb peaceful election but unfortunately police is not taking appropriate steps to arrest the criminals. The central paramilitary forces (CPF) are not being used properly,” Deodhar said.
He further alleged that in Majlishpur, Mandai, Belonia and Khowai constituencies, the CPI(M) mobilized their mafias and is planning to explode bombs to create panic situation among the voters before the assembly poll to retain in power. UNI
