Srinagar, Feb 3: Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and as many civilians were injured when militants attacked a patrol party at Tral, about 35 km from here in south Kashmir district of Pulwama Saturday afternoon.
Official sources said that the militants hurled a hand grenade towards a CRPF patrol party at Batagund, Tral.
The grenade exploded resulting in injuries to two CRPF personnel and as many civilians.
The injured have been admitted to hospital, they said, adding that panic gripped the area and people ran for safety after the blast was heard.
Additional security forces and state police personnel immediately rushed to the spot and entire area has been cordoned off. Searches were conducted to nab the militants responsible for the attack.
In a tweet police said “Terrorists lobbed grenade at Batagund # Tral. Area under cordon.@JmuKmrPolice.
About half-a-dozen grenade attacks by the militants occurred in the Kashmir valley during 2018 in which about a dozen police personnel were injured. UNI
