Agartala,
Jan 01: The BJP today accused CPI-M Tripura state committee secretary
Bijan Dhar of making false and derogatory remark against UP Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath intending to trigger communal tension in the state.
The BJP president Biplab Kumar Deb threatened to proceed for
legal action against the accused. While addressing the left front election rally yesterday here, Dhar allegedly uttered that Yogi after assuming office as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh instigated Hindus to rape Muslim women dug out the bodies from the graveyard.
Nobody ever before heard such a statement of Yogi except Bijan Dhar and his comrades, Deb said adding, “After listening to the statement, I enquired about it at different levels in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, but there was no such statement made by Chief Minister Yogi. It is a false and motivated statement of CPI-M leaders to play communal politics.”
He stated according to the constitution, making false statement against a chief minister is considered as criminal offense and Indian Panel Code has the provision to punish the guilty persons. Ahead of assembly poll, it is believed that Dhar made the false allegation against UP Chief Minister to create communal tension between Muslims and Hindus.
“BJP never believes in interfering into religious choice of any individual or group and we have full faith in the constitution, which guaranteed personal liberty of the citizen to choose religion and culture. But CPI-M unleashed baseless and false campaign against BJP to achieve political mileage by religious polarization, that we condemn,” Deb stated.
He said that Hindus and Muslims have equal status in BJP party and there is no feeling of religious insecurity among any citizen of the country and alleged, “Rather CPI-M has discrimination of caste, colour, creed, socio-economic strata and religious practice. They hate the believers of God whichever religion he or she belongs.”
Deb mentioned that yesterday the left front rally reflected the sense of nationalism of the top leaders of CPI-M, which became evident from their lack of mention of Stalin, Lenin and Marx. Instead, throughout the rally the words like 'Ramayana', 'Mahabharata' and ' Narendra Modi' were repeated by them.
Responding to the Sitaram Yechury’s comment on stopping the holy horse of ‘Aswamedha’, the Puranas, and Lov and Kush – two amazing characters of epic Ramayana, Deb said, “For the first time I found any CPI-M top leader trending demonstration from Indian traditions rather than Russian or Chinese ideology. This is showing impact of BJP on the left leadership." UNI
