Panchkula, Jan 11: A local court on Thursday deferred the framing of charges against Honeypreet
Insan, the adopted daughter of jailed Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet
Ram Rahim Singh, and others in connection with the Panchkula violence to
February 21.
Haryana Police produced Honeypreet alias Priyanka Taneja and
14 other accused in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Neerja Kulwant
Kalson.
The court deferred the framing of charges after Honeypreet's advocate argued that they were not provided a complete copy of the charge sheet.
According to the police charge sheet, Honeypreet and the 45-member dera management committee had hatched the conspiracy to spread violence in Panchkula and Sirsa following the conviction of Dera chief in two rape cases on August 25. Around 40 people had lost their lives and more than 200 others were injured in the violence.
Honeypreet is presently in judicial remand at the Ambala central jail. UNI
