KARGIL JANUARY 23, 2018:-Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer Kargil Haji Gulzar Hussain today convened a meeting of the concerned officers to review the preparations being put in place for implementation of Phase I of the Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization Programme scheduled to be held on January 28, 2018.
During the meeting, officers briefed about the requisite preparations being made for the successful implementation of the immunization programme in the district. It was given out that during the vaccination campaign as many as 382 vaccination booths would be set up in different parts of the district, 18940 children from 0 to 5 years would be vaccinated while as 50 supervisors and 1000 health workers, Ashas, Anganwari workers and other personnel are being deployed. The officers further informed that vaccines have already been dispatched to all blocks and snowbound areas of the district including Drass and Zanskar.
The DC, while underlining the need to take up proactive steps so as to achieve 100% target in the district, directed the officers to put in place the remaining arrangements well in advance. He also directed the officers of Education Department to extend proactive support to the Health Department in allotting required accommodation at schools for the establishment of vaccination booths as and when the need arises.
The DC also directed the officers to undertake adequate sensitization campaigns by making effective use of print and electronic media to spread maximum awareness among the people regarding Pulse Polio Immunization Campaign. He further directed officers of the health department to conduct door-to-door campaigns in every block of the district so that no child below the age of 5 years is left unimmunized.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue Kargil Imteeyaz Ahmed Khan Kacho, Chief Medical Officer Kargil Dr Ibrahim Khan, Deputy CMO Muhammad Afzal Lone, Deputy Chief Education Officer Kargil Muhammad Ali Bhuttoo Nowsheen, CDPOs of different blocks beside other concerned officers were also present in the meeting.

Meanwhile, the DC also directed the Sub Divisional Magistrates and Tehsildars of the Sub Divisions and Tehsils in the district to make all necessary arrangements for the successful implementation of the Pulse Polio Immunization Programme in their respective jurisdictions.
