Rs 6.40 cr proposal formulated for funding
JAMMU, JANUARY 23: Minister
for Public Works Department Naeem Akhtar today said that a proposal for
construction of 3x20 Mtr span steel girder bridge on Rather Gund Gorinar road
involving Rs 640.13 lakh is under consideration of the government.
The Minister was replying to a Calling Attention Notice moved by
legislator, Surinder Mohan Ambardar in the Upper House. The member drew
attention of the government to the non-availability of a bridge over Nallah
Sandran at village Gorinar Tehsil Veerinag in Dooru constituency and
dilapidated condition of 1.3 kilometer long Rather Gund Gorinar link road.
The
Minister informed the House that as soon as the proposal is approved, permanent
steel decked concrete bridge shall be constructed. However, the existing timber
bridge is regularly getting repaired and is pedestrian traffic worthy as on
date, the Minister said.
Naeem further said that Rather Gund Gorinar road project having length
of 1.30 km is an approved scheme under MH: 5054-District Sector, at an
estimated cost of Rs 45.00 lakh out of which Rs 27 lakh being utilized till
March 2017.
He said the road has deteriorated WBM GR-II status and there is no
allocation of funds for the said scheme under District Sector during the
current financial year. The Minister, however, said that road shall be taken up
for up-gradation during 2018-19, subject to availability of funds under
District Sector for making it traffic worthy.
