Delhi, Nov 3: Renowned Hindi writer Krishna Sobti has been chosen for this
year's Jnanpith Award.
92-year-old Krishna Sobti was chosen for the prestigious award at a meeting of the selection committee held here on Friday. The meeting was chaired by renowned Hindi critic Namwar Singh.
Ms Sobti has been chosen for the 53rd Jnanpith award for her immense contribution in the field of literature.
The jury for the selection of the award comprised of Mr Girishwar Mishra, Shamim Hanifi, Harish Trivedi, Ramakant Rath and the director of the Bharatiya Jnanpith Leela Dhar Mandloi.
