Nov 23: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists in Tripura who were showing protest against the journalist killing observing 12
hours ‘bandh’ are allegedly attacked by the communist cadres here in Sepahijala district
of the state at Boxanagar under the Sonamura sub-division on Thursday morning.
“Our party office at Boxanagar was ransacked by the CPI(M)
cadres there,” adding the BJP state president Biplab Deb claimed, “It proves that those
who are opposing the bandh meant to protest the journalist killings in the state are
involved with the incident where senior journalist Sudip Dutta Bhowmik was brutally shot dead.” Mr Deb who was joining the picketing in front of the state
secretariat office at Agartala alleged, “Some of our party workers there at Boxanagar were
also injured by the CPI(M) cadres and left two hospitalised.”Besides, while being asked the BJP Spokes Person Subrata
Chakroborty said, “Five of our party workers left themselves locked inside the party
office at Boxanagar in fear of the brutal attack of the CPI(M) cadres today while others who
were attacked managed to take shelter in the nearby police station.”Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police (SP) West Abhijeet
Saptarshi while talking to the media today at Agartala in front of the state secretariat
office said, “Besides some minor incidents being reported from the state outskirts the strike
called by the BJP party went peaceful in and around.” UNI
