SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 23: In view of upcoming Eid
Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), the Commissioner Secretary Food, Civil Supplies and
Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department, M. D. Khan today convened a meeting
to review the availability of essential commodities in the Valley.
The Commissioner Secretary was informed that
sufficient stocks of food grains, K-Oil and LPG are available at all the depots
across the Valley. The meeting was informed that about 7.5 lakh
quintals of food grains, 4.458 KLS of K-Oil and 2, 83,114 packed LPG cylinders
are presently available for the consumers of the Valley.
The Commissioner Secretary directed the
concerned officers to mobilize all basic units so that the commodities reach to
the consumers without any delay. He also asked the officers to make full proof
arrangements through subordinate units and intensify regular market checking to
keep a check on profiteering and hoarding.
During the meeting, Khan
also reviewed the availability of stock position in far-flung and border areas
of the Valley and expressed satisfaction with stocks made available before the
winter season.
