Awareness programme on GST organized at Shopian

SHOPIAN, NOVEMBER 23: District Administration Shopian in collaboration with Commercial Taxes Department organized an awareness programme on Goods and Service Tax (GST), here today at Mini Secretariat Arhama Shopian.

Speaking on the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Parvaiz Sajad Ganie appreciated the efforts of commercial taxes officers for organizing an event for explaining salient features and benefits of GST to all stakeholders. He said awareness programme was vital for getting all stakeholders viz. businessmen, educationists, media persons, public servants, lawyers, entrepreneurs ready for its implementation.

Earlier, Commercial Taxes Officers Shopian & Pulwama, Ab Rehman Kumar and Mohammad Farooq Kumar explained the anticipated impact of GST on tax structure, tax incidence, tax computation, tax payment, compliance, credit utilization and reporting under the new regime which would lead to a complete overhaul of the current indirect systems. He described Goods and Services Tax (GST) as one of the best possible tax systems that will immensely benefit stakeholders.

Among others attending the programme include Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE, Irrigation, other concerned officers and officials and local traders.
