Oct 17: BJP National President Amit Shah arrived here to address the
concluding session of the Janaraksha Yatra led by Party's State President
Kummanam Rajasekharan, this evening. The Yatra is to create awareness against
CPI (M) sponsored violence and Jihadi terrorism in Kerala soil. Party sources
said about 50,000 BJP workers would attend the concluding session which will be
held at Putharikandam Maithan here. Mr Shah and another 50 leaders from the
National level will join the Yatra in an open jeep at 1600 hrs at Pattom in the
city and walk from Palayam to Putharikandna Maithan. About 2,500 vehicles have
been hired by the party cadres to bring the workers from various places
including the neighboring districts to make the Yatra a success. The BJP
President inaugurated the Yatra on October three in Kannur where he walked
seven km stretch at Payyannur. As many as 200 organising committees and 2000
booth committees have been formed to create door-to-door campaign and bring
people to the concluding session. Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan joined the
Yatra at Sreekaryam at 1045 hrs. UNI
