Agartala,
Sep 12: A women officer belongs to Tripura Civil Service (TCS) cadre
lodged complaint of molestation against Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM)
Kailashahar in Unokoti district of North Tripura for which the government began
investigation. In a letter to District Magistrate and Collector of Unokoti the
complainant alleged her boss - Subrata Chaudhury, SDM Kailashahar has sexually
harassed in her residence three days ago in an unusual situation. The complaint
mentioned, on September 8 last around 0800 hours the accused Choudhury entered
her quarter, located adjacent to SDM quarter without any notice. “Though he was
an unexpected guest in the early morning, she asked him to sit but he allegedly
came close to her. At a point of time, he allegedly grasped her head and tried
to outrage her modesty. Shocked over the behaviour for a moment, I lost my
sense of the behaviour but pushed him out,” the complaint stated. Later, a day
after the incident she lodged complaint saying “there is every possibility to
other offences without any trouble. If it is tolerated and overlooked then the
matter could have other turn and worsen in future. As a women officer, I have
my right to privacy and nobody can violate my right." However, accused
Chaudhury termed the development against him as an outcome of conspiracy and
denied his visiting to her quarter. He said, “The issue is a fall out of some
inner conflict of vested interest quarter but certainly I shall be proved
clean”. District Magistrate Unokoti P R Bhattacharjee agreeing to the fact
said, “Yes, I received a complaint against Subrata Choudhury and the matter is
currently under process of investigation as per law.” UNI
