Sep 11: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said that Pakistan has to
stop ceasefire violations either today or tomorrow. "Pakistan is
repeatedly firing and targeting Indian posts and villages, but it has to stop
ceasefire violations either it does today or tomorrow," Mr Singh said,
while meeting with border migrants this afternoon during his visit to bordering
Nowshera sector of Rajouri district along the Line of Control in Jammu region.
"Pakistan is doing it since long and in 2014 too it heavily shelled the
border villages," he said and added that he then told to the Director
General BSF that no bullet will be fired first from Indian side but if Pakistan
starts firing, India will not count its bullets. "Situation since then has
improved a lot on the borders and it will further improve," said the Union
Minister. He however, said that 4 IRP battalions will be raised and for that,
he has asked the J&K DGP to ensure 60 percent of recruitment of youth from
the border belts. "I will also speak to BSF, CRPF, ITBP and CISF heads to
ensure recruitment of border youth," he asserted Mr Singh however, said
that he will keep visiting to the border belts and interact with them assuring
to address their grievances. Hundreds of border migrants are taking shelters in
government accomodations in view of ceasefire violations by the Pakistan. Union
MoS in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh also accompanied the Home Minister. Mr Singh is on
four-day visit to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. On the last leg of his visit
tomorrow, he will meet some of the delegations and address the media before
leaving for the national capital. Ahead of Mr Singh's visit to Nowshera sector,
Pakistan this afternoon reportedly fired unprovoked on the LoC in Shahpur area
of Poonch district. Indian Army gave befitting reply to the firing while no
damage or injury was reported in exchange of firing. UNI
