Srinagar,
Sept 11: Asserting that the situation is improving in the valley, Union
Home Minister Rajnath Singh today suggested five-Cs -- Compassion,
Communication, Coexistence, Confidence building and Consistency -- for
attaining the permanent solution of Kashmir issue. “A lot of speculations were
being made after I said that we are moving towards a permanent solution to
Kashmir issue. Today, I would like to suggest the way forward to attain that
permanent solution. According to me, the five-Cs should be implemented for the
permanent solution.” said Mr Singh during a press conference here this morning
before leaving for Jammu region. The Home Minister, who arrived here on
September 9, is on a four day visit to the state – two each in Kashmir valley
and Jammu region. Mr Singh, who is on his fifth visit to the state in the last
one year, asserted that the situation has improved a lot and is further
improving. “ During my two-day visit in the valley I have met a number of
delegations, including from civil society, students and political parties.
After meeting all of them, I can say this with confidence that the situation
has improved a lot in the valley and is further improving,” he said. However,
Mr Singh said that he would not say that the situation is normal in Kashmir. He
said that he has come to the state five times, but if need arises he will visit
the state 50 times in a year. “I haven't kept a count of the number of my
visits to the valley in the last one year. I was told that I have been here for
five times. But, I'm saying if need arises I will come here 50 times in a year.
We want to resolve problems in Jammu and Kashmir. I would like to talk to all
the stakeholders, I have always said this. I am not here keeping any
reservation in mind,” he said. UNI
