New Delhi, Sept 11: Giving a clarion call to create a 'new India' and 'Shrest India', Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said the youngsters should in effect develop a deep sense of love and pride for people from other states and divert actions towards creativity and nation building. "We should all dream of making India modern....for this, we should not hide truth about our failures and limitations," Mr Modi said addressing a gathering of students and youngsters here to mark celebration of 125th year of Swami Vivekananda's Chicago speech and part of celebration of Deendayal Upadhyaya centenary year. "Yuva ek manas-sthithi ke naam (Youthood is about mindset)...It should be pro-change," he said and maintained that "budai ke khilaf ladna hoga (we should focus on fighting the social evils)". Prime Minister said while Swami Vivekananda spoke highly about India and Indian religion in the US, he also did candid speaking and had attacked "social evils in India strongly". In this context, Prime Minister said, perhaps the contemporary Indians also do not have the right to raise the slogan 'Vande Mataram'. He said Indians who litter around the towns and cities do not have right to raise the slogans. "If anybody is entitled to say Vande Mataram, it is the cleanliness worker," Mr Modi said. "Life is meaningless without creativity," he said adding he is strongly not in favour of creating robots. Prime Minister said while he is not opposed to celebration of 'Rose Day' in college and university campuses, it is also high time that students in one state should celebrate the festivals and cultures of other days. "Should we not have a situation when a Haryana college celebrates Tamil Day, or a Punjab college celebrates Kerala Day," he asked. He sought to make a veiled attack on Congress party and blamed it for ignoring past glories of the country like Swami Vivekananda's address. He said before the New York attack of 2001, apparently the world did not know the importance of 9/11 and said it's high time to understand that the 9/11 of 1893 was about "love and brotherhood". "Had we not forgotten our own 9/11, may be another 9/11 would not have taken place," Mr Modi said. "The 9/11 of 1893 was about love, harmony and brotherhood unlike the one of 2001 which was about destruction and hatred," Mr Modi said. UNI
