KAS Officers Association hails the decision
SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 07: The Government today ordered
placement of Mohammad Hussain Malik, KAS, Secretary to the Chief Minister as
Commissioner Secretary to the Chief Minister.
Malik is also holding the charge of Information, Floriculture and Parks
and Gardens Departments.
Hailing the placement of Malik as Commissioner Secretary to the
Government, the KAS Officers Association today said that it is for the first
time in the administrative history of J&K that a KAS officer has reached to
the level of the Commissioner Secretary.
The Association said it is only because of the massive exercise of Cadre
Review undertaken by the present government recently that the KAS officers can
now reach to the level of Commissioner Secretaries.
Thanking the Government, especially the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti
and the members of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on cadre review including Deputy
Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, Forest Minister, Choudhary Lal Singh, Finance
Minister, Dr Haseeb Drabu, Minister for Social Welfare, Sajad
Gani Lone, and Minister for Works, Mr Naeem Akhtar, the Association said that
the move would go a long way in boosting the morale of the KAS officers.
The Association has also thanked the Chief Secretary B B Vyas for his
unflinching support in creating more career progression avenues for the KAS
cadre.
