Bengaluru, Aug 4 :  Seven leading engineering colleges in Karnataka has been included in the Ready Engineering programme of Tata Technologies, a leading global provider of engineering services and manufacturing enterprise IT to enhance the skill sets of students passing out from these colleges. According to a Company release here, Tata Technologies today signed an MoU with seven colleges in Bengaluru and Mysuru to offer the Programme for the students. The initiative aims to improve the employability of Engineer graduates and reduce the time and resources spent by companies on re-training them. The Colleges were: RV College of Engineering, REVA University, PES University, Bangalore Institute of Technology(all in Bengaluru) JSS University and National College of Engineering in Mysuru and Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumakuru. According to the India Skills Report 2017, only two out of five candidates applying for jobs are employable. The employable population however has seen an increase due to the initiatives by the government and the industry. Tata Technologies’ ‘Ready Engineer’ programme identifies third and fourth year Mechanical Engineering students from colleges to be part of this unique training. The programme imparts application based training by industry experts, in the Design Engineering domain and CAD tools hosted on Tata Technologies learning tool i GET IT®. KRACKIN Technologies, a start-up based out of the NASSCOM 10000 Startup warehouse, Bangalore has been selected as the implementation partners for this programme. The KRACKIN platform helps improve the industry-readiness of engineering students with right industry interventions through their web and mobile platforms. The classroom model which started with one college in Pune in 2010 has since been expanded successfully in various colleges across the country and was operational in 27 affiliated colleges. UNI
