Delhi, Aug 26: The situation in the capital was being kept under close
watch today after yesterday’s incidents of arson in the city, a fallout of the
violence in neighbouring Haryana by followers of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Ram
Rahim’s conviction in a rape case. "We are closely monitoring the
situation in the capital, but no untoward incident has happened since
yesterday’s incidents,’’ Delhi Police Spokesperson Madhur Verma told UNI. He
said police was fully alert to any designs by miscreants to take law and order
in their hands, and section 144 CrPC that had been imposed in 11 out of 13
districts of the capital continued. Mr Verma said the Central para military
forces had also been kept in reserve for deployment if needed. Yesterday, two
Delhi Transport Corporation buses were set on fire in Jyoti Nagar near Loni
roundabout, and Jahangirpuri by miscreants, and attempts were made to torch
four more buses but the police foiled the attempt. Besides, two empty bogies of
a train were torched at Anand Vihar Railway Station. UNI
