Four teachers were found absent from duty during inspection while 57 teachers were found on leave and in many cases the leave was not properly sanctioned or entered in leave account. 14 teachers were found on deputation, deployed or attached on various pretexts. A total of 75 teachers were not available in schools cumulatively while nearly 72 posts were found vacant owing to various reasons.
The surprise inspection was conducted pursuant to decisions taken in meeting of Education Department by Deputy Commissioner on 22 August wherein it was observed that instructions given in previous meetings were yet to be implemented.
