Security forces burst teargas shells to disperse demonstrators in Anantnag

Srinagar, Aug 4 :  Security forces burst teargas shells after repeated lathicharge had no impact on demonstrators in Anantnag, where a Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant and a civilian were killed this morning. The trouble started at several places in the town, including Lal Chowk, Malakhnag, Chinni Chowk, Reshi Bazaar, Sherpora, Janglat Mandi and Achabal bus adda, when people, mostly youths hit the streets and started pelting stones on security forces deployed there. Security forces resorted to lathicharge which was followed by bursting of teargas shells to chase away the demonstrators who were pelting stones. Several people, including some security personnel, were injured in the clashes, which were continuing when the reports last came in. Business and other activities remained paralysed with shops and business establishments remaining closed and traffic off the roads. The District Magistrate (DM), Anantnag has already closed all the educational institutions while mobile internet has also been suspended. UNI
