‘Surveillance system will ensure greater transparency in the
Deptt’
SRINAGAR, JULY 19: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and
Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) and Information, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today
inaugurated Command Control Room and Tehsil Accounts Section here at FCS&CA
Directorate.
The Minister was accompanied by Secretary FCS&CA Shafiq
Raina, Director FCS&CA Nisar Ahmad Wani and other concerned officers of the
Department.
The Minister was informed that the system has been introduced in
two-phases and in the inaugural phase 12 surveillance cameras have been
installed at Directorate and three at Gulab Bagh godowns, while the second
phase would be started next month.
While hailing the surveillance system setup, the Minister said
establishing Command Control Room (CCR) is a big step towards ensuring greater
transparency in the functioning of the Department.
However, he stressed on regular monitoring to make good use of
the new system. He said to maintain a continuous surveillance in the department
there should be a dedicated staff which would work in shifts to ensure that all
the departmental activities are continuously monitored.
The Minister explained the newly introduced monitoring system
would greatly help the department to figure out if there is any kind of
pilferage of food grains. He added the CC room would also enable the concerned
officers to monitor the engagement of their subordinates delivering their work
in different sections at the directorate. The Minister said the department has
introduced a latest surveillance system which will greatly help in
strengthening its clean image among masses.
Later the Minister also inaugurated the Tehsil Accounts Section
(TAS) and interacted with the staff there.
