Flipkart, India’s largest e-commerce marketplace, would offer ‘Grocery products on its e-commerce platform soon. Grocery had already offering on pilot basis in Banguluru and in a phased manner , it would also implement on pilot basis in other cities like Hyderabad soon, Flipkart Marketplace Head, Anil Goteti said in a press conference organized as part of Flipkart’s 10 year celebrations here today.


Hyderabad, Jul 18  : Flipkart, India’s largest e-commerce marketplace, would offer ‘Grocery products on its e-commerce platform soon. Grocery had already offering on pilot basis in Banguluru and in a phased manner , it would also implement on pilot basis in other cities like Hyderabad soon, Flipkart Marketplace Head, Anil Goteti said in a press conference organized as part of Flipkart’s 10 year celebrations here today. Currently, we have 30 fulfillment centres across the country including two in Hyderabad (Telangana) , he said that we are planning to open more fulfillment centres mainly at cities in the country. We have crossed 100 million customer-base in last year and in coming years, our customer-base expected to be reach 500 million , he said and adding that we want to invest more mainly in the areas of Technology development, infrastructure and supply chain. When asked about any GST impact on sales, Anil said “ no dip in sales’ and sales are growing even after GST also. We have more than 1.20 lakh sellers, he said that most of the orders through pre-paid, credit and debit cards . Flipkart had tied up with all banks for net banking facility. Commenting on flipkart’s growth in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Anil said with over 28 lakh unique customers in both Telugu states together form one of the biggest and fastest growing markets in Southern Indian for Flipkart. Besides setting up of Flipkart’s largest automated fulfillment centre (spread over 2.2 lakh sq.ft) in October, 2015, in Gundapochampally in Medchal mandal, outskirts of Hyderabad, focussed on improving investments in the city and owing to the demand seen from customers,Flipkart has recently opened up a fulfillment centre in 50,000 sq.ft dedicated to large appliances, he added.
